In the lead up to the Kings Challenge and Grand Annual Classic, the traditional curtain raiser, the Presidents Cup went ahead in classic fashion at Victoria's Avalon Speedway.
With a reasonable car count and very strong competition, having all the big hitters in town, it was the Maxwill Racing Engines pilot of Matthew Reed setting quick time around the 390m venue, with a very respectable time of 12.429. With the likes of Brooke Tatnell and other World Series regulars, as well as some big name Americans behind him, the night was set up well to be a great night.
The heat races saw Brooke Tatnell in the Krikke Motorsports, Toyota Genuine Parts, Maxwill Racing Engines, Cool move forward in a big way taking a 4th and a heat win to find himself starting on Pole Position for the feature.
From the outset of the A Main Brooke took a commanding lead and was never seriously challenged for the top spot as some of the big names battled for the minor positions. Brooke Tatnell took the win, putting him in good stead for the up and coming Kings Challenge as well as the Grand Annual Classic.
