With the arrival of USA Outlaw Craig Dollansky to our shores, there was always the promise of excellent racing. Driving the Robin Dawkins, Tamar Cars, Maxwill Racing Engines Sprintcar, the 'Crowd Pleaser' Dollansky became very familiar with his new surrounding very fast indeed.

Dollansky proved why he is one of the most talented drivers in Sprintcars by masterfully driving past the race leaded from his 4th starting position and take a very convincing win at Warrnambools Premier Speedway for the New Years Day round of the World Series Speedweek. On a very well prepared racetrack experiencing both a top and bottom racing line Dollansky utilised it to his best ability, driving past some very fast drivers during the 35 lap feature.

With a very stacked feature lineup, including Danny Smith driving the Trevor Green, Adrad Radiators, Maxwill Racing Engines, Maxim starting from the outside front row, ahead of 7 time Series Champion Brooke Tatnell in his Toyota Genuine Parts, Maxwill Racing Engines, Cool out of the inside second row next to Craig Dollansky in 4th. Also in the top starting positions were other Maxwill Racing Engines pilots Max Dumesny in the Valvoline Maxim in 6th and Steven Lines in the Camden Neon, J&J starting from 7th. This stellar lineup was always going to promise a an excellent race.

Early in the race Brooke Tatnell was showing great speed, but contact with another car saw him lose his side knerf bar and had to withdraw due to the mechanical defect flag being shown.

Dollansky was slowly edging his way thorugh to the front, whilst sitting in second a yellow light was shown due to Dumesny experiencing driveline issues. From the restart Dollansky was showing he was the man to beat, sliding past the leader effortlessly and driving to a comanding quarter lap lead, also setting the quickest lap of the race on lap 33.'The Crowd Pleaser' Craig Dollansky was excited by the speed of his race package and said he looked forward to more top finishes. Behind Dollansky saw USA's Danny Smith driving the Trevor Green, Adrad Radiators, Maxwill Racing Engines car in 4th ahead of South Australian Champion Steven Lines in the Camden Neon, Maxwill Racing Engines, J&J.
