Brooke Tatnell and Krikke Motorsports have kicked off their 2009/2010 Speed Week campaign in excellent fashion, taking out the Boxing Day Clash, Round 1 at Adelaide's Speedway City.
On a night of great competition, Brooke, wheeling his Maxwill Racing Engines, Toyota Geniune Parts, Cool, took a very handy fifth fastest time in timetrials on a track that favoured the earlier timetriallers.
With consistant heat races Brooke had to run the Bronze Dash. From there he elevated himself through the Silver Dash and into the Gold Dash, through means of quick times.
The seven time World Series Champion started the 35 lap A Main on the outside of the front row., ahead of fellow Maxwill Racing Engines competitor Max Dumesny and impressive local Jamie Cobby, starting from 7.Brooke got the jump at the start and opened up a healthy gap before a red light stoppage just 5 laps into the race. From there Tatnell opened up another gap and was soon into lapped traffic, where he moved through the slower car faultlesly, and was never headed for the lead, taking the win having led form flag to flag.
Max Dumesny, piloting his Valvoline, Maxwill Racing Engines, Maxim finished up in 4th position ahead of USA's Danny Smith, subbing for the injured Trevor Green, in the Adrad Radiators, Maxwill Racing Engines Sprintcar in an impressive 6th finish, after an earlier rollover in the heats, as well as still getting familiar with his new ride. Local ace Jamie Cobby brought his Peter Page Holden, Maxwill Racing Engines Sprintcar home in 7th position in the stacked field.
