Saturday night saw Steve Lines drive to a convincing win with a near clean sweep of the fourth round of the SRA Super Sprint Series. After a third place in his first heat race, Lines won every time he hit the track, taking the second heat, pole dash and feature race.
A very significant win for Lines, being both his maiden win at the teams home venue as well as the first win of the season, after coming very close on a number of occassions this year. With a big year ahead, it should be a common sight, seeing the number 45, Camden Neon, Maxwill Racing Engines, J&J on the podium.
Lines and the team had the car working well all night and commented "we got it all together and were rewarded with a great night". The third place finish in the first heat came from a 9th starting position, driving through a competitive field. Coming out of two in the second heat, Lines got into the lead early for a convincing win before taking on the dash, then starting out of pole position for the feature. Lines took the lead from the start of the race and was never headed, taking the convincing win.
Nick Lacey in his Maxwill Racing Engines powered racer took a heat win early in the night, but had bad luck in the feature, after starting from 5th.
Steve Lines and the Camden Neon team now prepare ahead of the traditional Speedweek starting in Adelaide on December 26th.
